Fresh Check Day Event: February 27

Please join Weigel Health Promotion for a Fresh Check Day event, open to students, faculty, and staff, on Monday, February 27, from noon to 3:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union upper lobby.

Fresh Check Day, the signature program of the Jordan Porco Foundation, is an uplifting mental health promotion and suicide prevention event for colleges and universities that includes interactive expo booths, peer-to-peer messaging, support of multiple campus departments and groups, free food, entertainment, and exciting prizes and giveaways.

Visit a variety of booths that address topics of mental health and wellness. Participate in interactive activities that teach you to identify red flags in yourself and others as they relate to the ways people address and manage the different issues they may face—from daily tasks to larger challenges. Bring a friend, learn something new, and enter to win a prize!

Fresh Check Day aims to create an approachable and hopeful atmosphere where students are encouraged to engage in dialogue about mental health and to help build a bridge between students and the mental health resources available on campus, in the community, and nationally.

Please consider providing extra credit for students to attend.

This event is offered in collaboration with many campus and community partners, including Buffalo State's United Students Government, Veteran and Military Services Office, Counseling Center, and Honors Program; Chartwells; SPCA Paws for Love; the Erie County Department of Health; and Ambient Sound Healing.
