Governor Kathy Hochul has directed that flags on state government buildings be flown at half-staff beginning at sunrise Monday, March 11, until sunrise Wednesday, March 27, in honor of Casey Frankoski and John Grassia, members of the New York National Guard who died during a federal deployment along the U.S. southern border. Grassia also served as a New York State trooper.
Frankoski and Grassia were devoted members of the National Guard, having served since 2016 and 2013, respectively. Both were natives of upstate New York and are survived by their families and loved ones. More information is available on the governor’s website.
