Gyonhehgoh: A Discussion on Indigenous Food Sovereignty - Today

Please join the Anthropology and the Hospitality and Tourism departments for "Gyǫnhehgǫh: A Discussion on Indigenous Food Sovereignty" with Buffalo State student Kashmir Bowser today, April 19, at 12:30 p.m. in the Russell J. Salvatore Demonstration Kitchen in Caudell Hall.   

The presentation will feature a discussion on Indigenous food sovereignty, what it means, and why it is important. Samples of Haudenosaunee corn soup, Three Sisters salad, and Indian cookies to be served. This work was part of Ms. Bowser's ANT 499 Independent Study research.

The event is sponsored by the Indigenous studies minor, the Anthropology Department, the Native American SUNY: Western Consortium, the Anthropology Society, Lambda Alpha (Tau chapter of NY, the National Anthropology Honorary), and the Hospitality and Tourism Department.
