Join Us for the 16th Buffalo State Social Justice Festival - AFP 2024: Home: Building Our Collective Story

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 16th annual Anne Frank Project Social Justice Festival, AFP 2024, during Buffalo State University’s Homecoming Week. This year, our theme is “Home: Building Our Collective Story,” an exploration of the multifaceted concept of ‘Home’ and how our diverse narratives weave together into a shared story of belonging and unity.

AFP 2024 is not just an event; it is an opportunity for our faculty, staff, students, and community to engage in enlightening discussions about social justice across various fields. The festival encourages interaction with leaders, activists, educators, authors, and artists, broadening perspectives on justice. Our dedicated AFP team will provide support to your classes before and after the festival, offering previews and debriefing experiences.

Celebrating our 16th year, the festival will focus on our global community, bringing together diverse stories from all corners of the world. AFP 2024 is a unique platform to delve into pressing global issues and integrate social justice into your work. Over the years, the AFP festival has welcomed over 30,000 attendees, each contributing to our collective ‘Home’ at Buffalo State.

We are proud to host this pivotal academic tradition, which has had a profound impact on our community since its inception in 2009. Your active participation in AFP’s social justice festivals is appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you!

In the spirit of Anne Frank’s wish to “repair the world,” let us come together at AFP 2024 to deconstruct and rebuild our understanding of ‘Home.’ We look forward to your participation in this journey toward a shared story.
