KidBiz Market Registration Is Open

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is excited to announce that KidBiz Market registration is open!

KidBiz is a small-scale entrepreneurial and educational program for third- through sixth-graders that culminates in three selling dates at the Elmwood Village Farmers Market.

To be part of KidBiz and sell at KidBiz Market, a child and a supportive adult must attend the Get Ready for KidBiz training session on Saturday, May 11, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Newman Lecture Hall, Bulger Communication Center 215.

Attendees will learn how to serve customers, how to estimate the cost of supplies, and how much to charge. Attendees will also get a KidBiz start-up kit and a KidBiz certificate.

What to sell? Anything that will fit on the table—your old toys, sports cards, books, your artwork, crafts, clothes you have outgrown, homemade food and drinks (following home processing rules). It is best to stick with one idea and improve it from month to month.

Market days are set for June 15, July 20, and August 17.

Please contact Olivia Harbol, business advisor in the SBDC, (716) 878-4030, for more information or with questions.
