National Walking Day Event and Ribbons for SAAM: April 6

Celebrate National Walking Day with Weigel Health Promotion as we hang ribbons around trees on campus to support the Dean of Students Office and the launch of Take Back the Night. At the same time, we will kick off a series of Arbor Day and Earth Day celebration events created by the Buffalo State College Sustainability Committee.

We will meet on Wednesday, April 6, at 11:00 a.m. in the Campbell Student Union Fireside Lounge to distribute supplies and assign locations to hang the ribbons and paint the campus teal in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Fliers can be downloaded from our web pagenewsletter, or Outlook calendar or through our social media channels. The ribbons will have QR codes on them that can be scanned for those who want more information about sexual assault services on campus, as well as the link to the sustainability website.

Keep an eye on the Daily Bulletin for additional events in April sponsored by the Sustainability Committee to raise awareness of different ways to be mindful of the campus, environment, energy usage, and more.

With questions regarding the walking event, please contact Paula Madrigal, assistant director of prevention and health promotion. With questions regarding the Arbor Day and Earth Day events, please contact Steven Sypniewski, manager of Buffalo State’s Maud Gordon Holmes Arboretum.
