Dan MacIsaac, professor of physics, and coauthors Florian Genz (Uni-Köln Physikdidaktik doctoral candidate) and Michael Resvoll (Köln high school physics teacher) published their paper "Learning Physics with Refugee Children in Germany" in the January 2021 issue of the Physics Teacher 59 (1): 51–56. The paper describes conducting hands-on physics learning activities with international children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Many of these activities have since been offered within Buffalo State–supported and directed online STEM outreach and after-school programs at Buffalo Public School 45, the International School.
