Laurie Buonanno, professor of political science, public administration, and planning; and Frederick Floss, professor of economics and finance, were appointed by Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz to serve on the Erie County Citizens Salary Review Commission. The Erie County Charter requires the convening of a nine-member commission prior to any salary changes for the county executive, county clerk, county comptroller, county sheriff, and county legislators. Commission members elected Dr. Buonanno as their chair. The commission met nine times from January through early April, delivering its report on April 2, 2024. Its salary recommendations were approved by the Erie County Legislature on June 20.
