John Draeger, professor of philosophy and director of the Teaching and Learning Center, has been selected by the Chancellor's Office as a SUNY representative for an 18-month project on “Civil Discourse.” The project is affiliated with the Institute for Citizens and Scholars and sponsored by an organization called College Presidents for Civic Preparedness. Civility and the respect we owe those with whom we disagree have been central to Dr. Draeger's work as an ethicist for many years.
