The Beyond Boundaries Screening and Discussion Series is pleased to announce its fall 2024 schedule. All films start at 7:00 p.m. in the Burchfield Penney Art Center’s Tower Auditorium and are free and open to the public. There is always a discussion after the film.

Chisholm ’72: Unbought & Unbossed (2004)

This compelling documentary takes an in-depth look at the 1972 presidential campaign of Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman elected to Congress and the first to seek nomination for the highest office in the land. Following Chisholm from her own announcement of her candidacy through her historic speech in Miami at the Democratic National Convention, the story is a fight for inclusion. Chisholm is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo.
