Michael Ferraro, club house manager of Campus House, and Steven Swiatek, assistant to the chief diversity officer, recently attended the ACPA-College Student Educators International Conference in Long Beach, California. ACPA is one of two premier national conferences for professionals working in higher education and student affairs.

Ferraro and Swiatek are both graduate students in the higher education and student affairs administration (HESAA) master's program and were able to attend this national conference through the support of two department scholarships. Ferraro was the recipient of the Robert A. Davis Endowed Scholarship and Swiatek was the recipient of the Thomas J. Quatroche, Ph.D., Memorial Scholarship. They attended educational sessions focused on student belonging, using AI in assessment, and serving students in the current political climate, and had conversations with colleagues across the country about the state of higher education and current events.
