Dan MacIsaac, associate professor of physics, and Buffalo State College physics alumni Aaron Ward, M.S.Ed. '15, and Steven Wilser, B.S., B.S.Ed. '11, published a paper on introductory physics content and pedagogy titled "A Classroom Demonstration RC Circuit: The Neon Bulb Relaxation Oscillator" in the fall 2019 issue of the Science Teachers Association of New York State's Science Teachers Bulletin 83 (1): 29-39. The article discusses constructing inexpensive demonstration equipment, a related mechanical oscillator, and promoting student use of student-generated conceptual analogies to learn about resistor-capacitor circuits.
