From the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
Career and Professional Education (CAPE) Move to Academic Affairs
The Career and Professional Education (CAPE) office, effective Sept. 1, under the leadership of Denise Harris, has formally realigned to report to M. Scott Goodman within the Division of Academic Affairs. This strategic transition reflects the institution’s commitment to more closely aligning academic programming with the evolving needs of the regional and global workforce. By integrating CAPE within Academic Affairs, Buffalo State seeks to strengthen the connection between our academic curricula and career readiness initiatives, including internships, volunteer opportunities, professional development, career advising, graduate school preparation, and job placement services. This reorganization will also facilitate greater collaboration between CAPE and other community-facing offices across the institution as Buffalo State strives to deepen its engagement with our Western New York community. The Academic Affairs Office will work with offices across campus to ensure a smooth transition.
