Reminder: No Classes on May 6 for Inaugural Spring Student Showcase

Posted:

The inaugural Spring Student Showcase at Buffalo State is an all-day, campus-wide event scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, 2026. All classes will be cancelled on May 6 to ensure broad participation in this dynamic celebration of student achievement and academic excellence.

Designed to spotlight the impressive breadth and depth of student talent across all disciplines, the Showcase will bring together undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and the entire campus community for a vibrant and inclusive day of learning, discovery, and inspiration. In place of regular classes, a full schedule of events is being planned, including signature programs such as the Student Research and Creativity Conference and the Graduate Research Fair. Attendees can also look forward to creative exhibitions, performances, workshops, and experiential learning presentations.

Faculty are strongly encouraged to incorporate student participation, either as presenters or attendees, into their Spring 2026 course syllabi, helping to make this a meaningful and enriching learning experience for all students.

draft schedule of events is available on the Experiential Learning Website. For questions, suggestions, or to get involved in planning, please contact M. Scott Goodman at goodmams@buffalostate.edu or Carolyn Guzski at guzskic@buffalostate.edu.  We look forward to showcasing the incredible work of our students and celebrating the spirit of academic excellence at Buffalo State!
