Teaching and Learning Center Workshop: 'Women and Mathematics' - March 10

Come and join the conversation during this Teaching and Learning Center workshop, "Women and Mathematics," on Tuesday, March 10, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Chase Hall 109. Presented by Diane McCarthy, associate professor of mathematics education.

It has been 100 years since women were granted the right to vote in the United States. Since then, gains have been made in women’s rights, yet there is still disparity in the area of mathematics. Most people cannot name five women who are influential in mathematics. This session will explore the data about women and mathematics, the stories of some female mathematicians, and the challenges faced by women in mathematics and what we can do about it.

Please register through the Workshop Management System.
