Tell Students: Alternative Spring Break 2023 Service Project - March 29, 30

Buffalo State students are invited to take part in an Alternative Spring Break opportunity, a two-day food-access-focused service project that will introduce and support three community partner initiatives that address the food security need in our community, on Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30. We will be working with Five Loaves, an urban farming initiative; Big Big Table, a pay-what-you-can community café; and Provisions 139, a West Side food pantry.

The nontraditional ASB two-day event will not have an overnight component. All participants will return to their respective homes at the end of the volunteer day.

All are welcome to sign up (undergrad, grad, part-time, full-time, faculty, and staff). This 20-hour civic engagement service project is a great opportunity for participants to be introduced to the three partnering organizations, support meaningful food access initiatives in our community, and learn about new ways to be civically engaged.

Space is limited. Applications are being accepted now. Once the program fills, we will initiate a waiting list. There is also an opening for two ASB student leader positions. Inquire for more information.

Please contact Lisa Kragbé, assistant director of civic and community engagement, at cce@buffalostate.edu with questions.

Complete the registration form to apply. Registration closes Monday, March 20.
