Three New High-Capacity Web-Conferencing Rooms Open for Campus Use

Information Technology Classroom Support is proud to share some recently added capabilities in three spaces that are available to the Buffalo State community. Bacon Hall 115, Bacon Hall 117, and Cleveland Hall 418 are now fully equipped with web-conferencing hardware. The equipment allows users to participate in Microsoft Teams meetings using the PC built into the room with no additional items required.

This new technology includes the following:

  • A larger touch screen
  • A presenter camera with automatic tracking capability
  • An audience camera
  • Ceiling-mounted array microphones
  • Assisted listening systems
  • ADA-compliant podiums with electronic height controls
  • Courtesy audio inputs/outputs for press events
  • Touch-capable monitors
  • Confidence monitor for cameras
  • USB-C laptop input (with charging)
  • High-contrast laser projectors

These renovations were made possible by HEERF funding.

To maximize the resources available for equipment, Classroom Support staff members performed all design, installation, programming, and commissioning of the systems entirely in-house. More information on web-conferencing-ready spaces on campus is available in the IT Knowledge Base.

To request a training session on one of the new rooms, please contact Classroom Support via phone, email, or ticket.

Bacon Hall 115 and Bacon Hall 117 are generally scheduled classrooms that may be requested for regular class sessions by specifying the “Web Conferencing” attribute in Banner. One-time reservations may be requested via Events Management.

Cleveland Hall 418 is an Events Management space, bookable through that office.
