Accessibility Tip of the Day: Alt Text for Graphs and Images
Adding descriptions or Alt Text to images included in presentations and documents is an accessibility standard that must be met. Alt text provides a brief description of the image, graph, or art for students with visual impairments.
Content created within Brightspace provides this option when inserting an image.
Microsoft users may access the instructions on how to create alt text in MS Word, PowerPoint for Windows and MacOS users.
The accessibility checklist with guidelines is available on the Content Accessibility section of the Student Accessibility Services website.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to register for training sessions periodically listed in the Buffalo State Workshop Registration System, and/or contact SAS Content Access for support.
