Call for Papers: Values of Academic Research and Global Linkages - Why All Issues Matter
The Global Studies Institute (GSI) at Buffalo State serves as a hub for research, education and related activities on global issues and world regions. We aim to offer the synergy for the campus community and beyond to address and advance global understanding, engagement, and cooperation in a complex and changing world.
Why All Issues Matter
We are inviting paper submissions from students, faculty and staff from ALL disciplines and schools that address global issues.
Papers on the following topics or issues will be considered
- Governance and cooperation
- Development and sustainability
- Justice and human rights
- Health, healing and well-being
- Global community, culture and identity
- Or on any areas and topics that contribute to academic knowledge, policy debates, social change, social responsibility and/or cultural competence that advance our understanding of global issues.
Papers must be complete papers and could come from classes and/or projects. They can range from five to 15 pages, but all lengths will be considered. Selected papers and applicants will be notified by the committee in early Spring 2026 semester and will be asked to participate and present in a panel later in the Spring.
Refreshments and prizes will be awarded.
