Career Talk with a Forensic Chemistry Alum

Posted:

The Chemistry Department will host a career talk featuring a Chemistry/Forensic Chemistry alum. As part of our Department Seminar series during Bengal Pause on Thursday, we will invite alumni from the department to share their career journeys.

Our first speaker will be Ashleigh Coggins Block, a recent Buffalo State graduate who earned a B.S. in Forensic Chemistry (B.S., '19) and an M.S. in Forensic Science (M.S., '21). She is currently employed as a Senior Research Associate at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (Department of Health Behavior, Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences) while pursuing a Ph.D. at the University at Buffalo.

In this talk, Ashleigh will share her experiences in choosing a career path as a forensic chemistry major and provide insight into her current research. Importantly, she also looks forward to engaging with our students through a Q&A session to offer practical tips as a recent Buffalo State graduate.

Date: September 25, 2025

Time: 12:30 pm to 1:20 pm

Location: SAMC 151
