Eric Nagel is a principal full-stack software engineer at Imwave, where he designs and builds scalable, data-driven systems and leads the adoption of modern developer tooling, including AI-assisted development workflows. He has been programming since the age of 10 and brings over 25 years of professional software engineering experience across web applications, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and developer productivity. Nagel holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from University at Buffalo and an M.B.A. from University of Phoenix, combining deep technical expertise with business and systems-level thinking. In addition to his industry work, Nagel is an adjunct professor in the Computer Information Systems Department at Buffalo State University, where he teaches web development and .NET application development with a focus on real-world engineering practices and emerging technologies. In 2024, he received the SUNY Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching in recognition of his impact in the classroom. His work sits at the intersection of software engineering, education, and AI-assisted coding, and he actively uses tools such as GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio, and VS Code to improve code quality, velocity, and learning outcomes.
