Help Needed: Call for Title IX Advisors

Posted:

The Title IX Office is looking to increase its list of available advisors for participants in need!

As part of the Title IX Grievance Process, both the complainant and the respondent are required to have an advisor assigned to them throughout the entirety of the process. There is an active role that an advisor has during a portion of a Title IX hearing but it is mainly a quiet supportive role for the party that they are assigned to. On the Title IX website, there is an advisor resource guide for more detailed information about the role.

If you are interested in becoming an advisor available for our campus community, please email titleix@buffalostate.edu. This is a great opportunity to volunteer on campus when students/colleagues need support.

If you are interested in taking it a step further, you could also become a hearing board member with the Student Conduct and Community Standards Office and be available to sit on Title IX hearing boards. If you are interested in being an advisor and/or a hearing board member, please let us know!
