Phi Upsilon Omicron Honors Society - Please Share with Students!

Posted:

Phi Upsilon Omicron is an academic honors society open to any student who meets the GPA requirements and is pursuing a major or minor that falls under Family and Consumer Sciences, which includes: culinary arts, hospitality, education, nutrition, health and wellness, human/child development and family relations, personal and family finance, textiles, apparel, and retailing.

As of this Fall, the Mu Chapter has been reestablished here at BSU! We are seeking assistance in spreading the word about this opportunity for student membership. Below is a template announcement for programs to share via email/Brightspace announcement.

Additionally, the Mu Chapter would like our first endeavor to be a Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit Milligan’s Food Pantry. Phi U, particularly our Mu Chapter, has some strong links to a very popular Thanksgiving Dish! Eve Stoklasa Bates, a BSU Home Economics Education alumna, is the niece of Dorcas Reilly, inventor of the Green Bean Casserole! What better way to celebrate the joy of giving, gathering, and food than assisting Milligan’s Food Pantry in stocking their shelves! Donations can be placed in the marked boxes in the third floor lobby of Caudell Hall, or brought directly to Caudell 323.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to offer students these rich opportunities for scholarship, service, and professional development. Any questions can be directed to Danielle King at kingde@buffalostate.edu
