Update on Managed Print Services Cost Savings Initiative

Posted:

We have successfully completed implementation of Managed Print Services (MPS) in 14 buildings across campus: LoRusso Alumni and Visitor Center, Bengal Hall, Bulger Communication Center, Cassety Hall, Caudell Hall, Chase Hall, Cleveland Hall, Clinton Center, Donald Savage Building, Houston Gym, Sports Arena, Technology Building, Twin Rise, and Weigel Health Center. To find an MPS device near you, please use our Managed Print Locations dashboard. This dashboard is dynamic and up to date with all of the MPS device locations and features to help you choose one that meets your needs.

In addition to the Managed Print Locations dashboard, we have created multiple Knowledge Base Articles aimed at providing general information and basic instructions. You can find all of the Knowledge Base Articles as well as any available manufacturer’s user manuals and guides linked from our Managed Print Services (MPS) Collection page.

If you find that you are having issues with an MPS device or require assistance using the service, we invite you to please open a Managed Print Service Request (link also available from the Managed Print Services (MPS) Collection page). This service request can be used to report anything from low supplies to equipment malfunctions to requests for assistance. These service requests go to a team of individuals for triage and response, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us via this request for all of your MPS needs.

The next phase of this project is in the works, as we are in the process of procuring the equipment needed to transition the rest of campus. The timing of the remaining transitions will depend heavily upon availability of resources. We will continue to communicate directly with building occupants ahead of any transitions, so that they may be informed and prepared.

We would like to invite the campus to share their experience with Managed Print Services thus far by completing this brief survey: Managed Print Services Survey.

The MPS team appreciates everyone’s support and patience as we make this transition to a more cost effective and environmentally friendly solution in line with SUNY and Buffalo State policies and strategic alignments.
