Workshop: LGBTQ Targeting by the Tobacco Industry - October 21

Weigel Health Promotion and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Institute will present a workshop on LGBTQ targeting by the tobacco industry on Wednesday, October 21, at 2:00 p.m.* in Caudell Hall 208.

While it is common for LGBTQ individuals to experience disparities that stem from social stigma and discriminatory treatment, a different kind of disparity in the LGBTQ community is often overlooked: disproportionately higher smoking rates. This webinar examines the ways the tobacco industry specifically targets the LGBTQ community. This is a great opportunity to offer to students for extra credit or résumé building.
