Experience three new exhibitions at the Burchfield Penney Art Center during M&T Second Friday tonight, July 12, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Embracing Earth: Burchfield & Whitman will explore nature through the visual art, poetry, and prose of artist Charles E. Burchfield and poet Walt Whitman.
William Y. Cooper: Beyond Imagination celebrates the legacy of the beloved visual artist, writer, educator, and community member. A self-proclaimed Afrocentric artist, Cooper infused his vibrant and intricate works with his African heritage and American experience.
In the exhibition The Unseen: Works from the Collection, visitors will discover recent acquisitions and rediscover works from the Burchfield Penney vaults.
The evening will also feature live Americana music by Ten Cent Howl and all-ages art-making.
Thanks to the generosity of M&T Bank, every Second Friday is free and open to the public. See you there!
P.S. Gallery admission is free anytime for Buffalo State students, staff, and faculty members—just show your ID at the front desk.
