'Catching Sunlight: Solar Adventures from a Buffalo Backyard' - March 24

Catching Sunlight promo BPAC website

Please join the Burchfield Penney Art Center for the presentation “Catching Sunlight: Solar Adventures from a Buffalo Backyard” with astro-photographer Alan Friedman on Sunday, March 24, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the center.

Alan Friedman is a citizen astronomer and astro-photographer who captures detailed portraits of our neighborhood star from an unlikely location—a backyard in downtown Buffalo, New York.

“Catching Sunlight” will offer an overview of his work from the past two decades, discuss the techniques and tools he has developed to create his images, and give us some insider tips on making the most of the April 8 total solar eclipse—the first total solar eclipse visible from Buffalo in 100 years.

The artist’s presentation is offered in concert with the exhibition Total Solar Eclipse & Astral Visions: Works by Charles E. Burchfield & Alan Friedman

This event is free with admission. Free for Buffalo State faculty, staff, and students. Please show your ID at the admission desk.
