Coffee Talk: Anthology Ally (Previously Blackboard Ally) - March 7

Are you thirsty for some inspiration, new knowledge, and making connections with colleagues? Instructional Design and Distance Learning and the Teaching and Learning Center will host the next Coffee Talk—a series of weekly themed discussion and networking opportunities for the university—on Thursday, March 7, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Butler Library 316.

Networking is the best thing you can do for your professional development! Share, learn, and grow from other professionals.

In this session, Meghan Pereira, director of IDDL, and Sumana Silverheels, interim director of student accessibility services, will demonstrate how to review Anthology Ally (previously Blackboard Ally) reports. Ally is a tool that helps faculty members improve the accessibility of course documents. With Ally, students view course documents in a variety of formats that support different learning needs. Ally is integrated into the Brightspace learning management system (LMS) and automatically provides alternative formats for certain course documents. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops if they wish to work on their documents and receive assistance during the sessions.

Please join us! Register through the Workshop Registration System. Walk-ins are always welcome.

Coffee Talk will be on hold for the remainder of March because of construction in the library but will resume April 11, when we will discuss the benefits of Microsoft Sharepoint. All Coffee Talk formats include a brief 15-minute presentation, a 30-minute discussion and technology help session, and 15 minutes to conclude, with topic resources and next steps to further the discussion.
